Before, during and after my ‘escape’ from a toxic, abusive and unhappy marriage on my fortieth birthday, I found solace in the writing of poetry and subsequently ‘Poetry for the Newly Single 40 Something’ was published last year.
I have since met with the CEO of IDAS (Independant Domestic Abuse Service) and realised I want to help people still trapped and isolated within their relationship and have decided to use the event of climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in 24 hours. (Assuming my dodgy knee holds up!!) I hope to raise a bit of money to donate to this Yorkshire based charity that exists to support men and women trapped in abusive relationships and have provided the link to my JustGiving page below if anyone would like to sponsor me.
